NEW YORK for New YearsExplorer
Dec 27, 2011 until Jan 1, 2012
SOLD OUT
Where better to begin a tour of New York, than the world famous Rockefeller Center. Going behind the scenes at NBC Studios will give us an insight as to how one of America's largest network television studios operates. From the Top of the Rock we get a sky view of Manhattan and with a look in any direction you will be able to see all the way out the other boroughs as well.
As we stroll through Central Park, one of New York's favorite relaxation spots, we will enjoy a variety of street performers, and have photo opportunities at the Bethesda Fountain, boat house, and the John Lennon-inspired Strawberry Fields. Also located in Central park, we will visit the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Onboard a ferry boat to the iconic Statue of Liberty, we can photograph New York's amazing skyline before cruising out to Ellis Island to learn about America's immigration history. We will tour the Financial District and walk along Wall Street where we will learn about the fascinating business of stock trading. Here in Lower Manhattan we will also have an opportunity to see Ground Zero and the building of the Freedom Tower.
During a tour of the United Nations we learn about the organization and its world influence and then continue on to visit some of the countless neighborhoods that make up Manhattan. Our tour will take us to Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Soho and Little Italy where we will learn about the various ethnic groups that give New York its flavor. Following dinner at the Hard Rock Café, we will enjoy a real Broadway show. We spend New Year with out own dance party.
No visit to New York would be complete without a shopping expedition. Whatever you are in the market for, New York has the stores for you. You will have a chance to visit one of the best outlet malls on the East Coast. We will explore the boutiques and high-end stores that line Fifth Avenue, including Bloomingdales, Tiffany & Co. and the world-famous toy store, FAO Schwartz. And for the latest fashion trends, bargains, and fun souvenirs we will visit the always exciting Canal Street in Chinatown.
